As you are aware, Bankstown Public School was non-operational today, Tuesday 17 August 2021, as a precaution, for the onsite attendance of staff and students.
I would like to confirm with you that a student from our school has tested positive for COVID-19 however the Department has been advised by NSW Health that the student has not been at school during the time they were infectious.
I would like to reassure you that the school will take action in accordance with NSW Health advice on a confirmed case of COVID-19 where there has been an impact on our school.
In this case there is no action required, it is a personal matter for those involved and they will be supported directly by NSW Health. I am sure you join me in wishing the student a quick recovery.
The school has been thoroughly cleaned and our school will be operational from Wednesday 18 August 2021 for any child who is unable to learn from home.
The safety and wellbeing of our staff and students is of paramount importance to us at all times. As such we will continue to work closely with NSW Health to ensure that all necessary health advice is adhered to.
