NSW schools offer special religious education and special education in ethics. Approved providers deliver these, where available.
Write to the school if you wish to withdraw your child from special religious education, sometimes known as scripture. Special education in ethics is an option for your primary-age child if you withdraw them from special religious education. For more information, visit Religion and ethics.
Scripture and Non-Scripture at Bankstown Public School
Bankstown Public School offers a range of Scripture classes for students, each Wednesday morning. All Scripture teachers hold a current Working with Children Check (WWCC) and Scripture classes are supervised by school staff.
Families are welcome to indicate a preference for their child/children not to attend Scripture classes, on their school enrolment form. These students attend non-Scripture classes and are supervised by school staff.
